Tropical gardens are characteristically filled with lush, leafy plants and palm trees, cycads, and shrubs with bright coloured flowers. Scent also forms an important part of tropical gardens, with different smells at different times of the year, and even different times of the day.
While tropical gardens were very fashionable a few years ago, the trend in landscaping has changed to more indigenous and water-wise gardens. However, it is still a wonderful style to play with, and the different leaf textures and colours bring an exciting feel to the garden.
Bali Style, Johannesburg
This client, in Barbeque Downs, Johannesburg, contacted us from the DRC to ask us to design her garden, in a Bali style.
We submitted the plan and quotation via email, which was accepted with minimal change.
She only saw the garden for the first time about one month after the installation, and was absolutely thrilled with the outcome.
We can again be proud of the result, but very fortunate that a client was willing to give us carte blanche, and allow us to carry out our ideas to the fullest.
